Research and Planning - Conventions of a film poster

The conventions of a film poster,
Title - The title of the film is very important as, it is a way getting the audience to remember the film. A catchy title means it will stick in the minds of the audience, therefore more people will come to see the film.
Tag Line - Used to summarise the film for the audience in one sentence.
Image - The front image on the poster is important as it usually introduces the characters/actors to the audience, it also introduces the genre of the film it is important this comes across in the poster, as this is a way of the film attracting their target audience.
Colours - The colours used in the film poster are another way of reflecting its genre. For example, If you see a dark film poster with lots of uses of the colours black, brown, grays etc then we usually know as the audience that its a horror film. This is the same with romances for the colour red. Different colours have different connotations with them.
